What size jack plate do i need?

i'm buying a 16ft carolina skiff and the jack plate is broken the jack plate on it can hold a 130 hp or under. it has a 40 hp on it what size should i buy and how much does it costWhat size jack plate do i need?
Try this company, CMC. The PT-130 model will probably do the job for you. The PT-35 is only rated for 35 hp, but may work for your application.

Why use the jack plate?? If the 40 has a 20" shaft than it can be bolted on the transom.Or find 1 for a 40 that 1 is to large.
