Does a carolina skiff need paint?

does a carolina skiff deluxe boat need paint on the bottom? its pretty slick on the bottom so i want to know weather or not i need to paint it|||only if you leave it in the water for a long period of time, meaning like a week, as barnacles and weed will start growing, also there is a blistering problem if painted and not done correctly
