I have a 50 hp on a j17 carolina skiff is that to small of a motor?

i have a 50 hp on a j17 carolina skiff is that to small of a motor?|||No I have the same engine on my jv 17 and it will get up to 42mph. The j17 is rated for 50hp no more than that. hope that helped|||Yeah,Its Small.|||You have to find out what the transon is rated for! Thats where the motor rides! Too much power and it could break the transom!
